Mount Kosciusko has a height of 2,228 meters which is 7,310 ft above sea level. The explorer Paul Eddmund Strzelecki was the one who named this great treasure. Regarding the name of this mountain, there are several native aboriginal names connected to the polish explorers’ decision. Measurements of this mountain showed that it was somewhat lower than mount Townsend which is why the names of both the mountains were swapped (by the New South Wales land department). They did this so Mount Kosciuszko could remain the name of the highest peak in Australia.
